The Raiders men’s basketball team defeated the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks 92-86 Wednesday night, extending their winning streak to three games. The Raiders are now 14-8 on the season and have swept the Jayhawks on the season defeating them in both matchups.

Freshman guard Miles Robinson led the Raiders in points with 24. Robinson also made five three-pointers to help the Raiders take down the Jayhawks.

“He’s a great shooter, and he shot the ball well tonight,” said Head Coach TJ Carnegie. “We encourage him to shoot and he did just that tonight.”

Freshman forward Deontae Hudson contributed with a double-double of 15 points and 20 rebounds.

The Raiders trailed 41-38 at halftime as the Jayhawks shot 51 percent from the field. In the second half, the Raiders outscored the Jayhawks 54-45, including a 15-5 run late in the second half.

“We just came out with more energy,” Carnegie said.

The Raiders will go on the road and face Ancilla College 3 p.m. Saturday.

“We’re going (in) the right direction, but we’re not there yet,” Carnegie said. “We have to keep working hard and take something positive away from every game.
