To start the winter semester off right, the Campus Activities Board is hosting its annual Welcome Back Week for new and returning students. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday in the Raider Grille students can have fun, eat free food, and learn about opportunities they have available to them on campus.
Beginning Tuesday morning, students can attend Club Day where they can visit over 30 tables featuring various clubs and organizations Grand Rapids Community College has to offer its students.
Along with other activities, on Wednesday, students can enjoy a show by a comedy improv group called “No Outlet Improv” featuring students of GRCC.
“Welcome Back Week or Welcome Week (for our new winter students) is intended to provide a warm and engaging experience for all of our students. It’s about building community and getting involved,” said Evan Macklin, Coordinator of Student Life.
To conclude Welcome Back Week, students will have the chance to test their creative skills. Whether it’s by crafting their own mug, creating a music video, capturing memories in a photo booth, or last but not least, getting a sugar high on Pucker Powder, there’s something for everyone.
The excitement doesn’t end there. On Saturday, GRCC will also sponsor Night at the YMCA from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., which includes free admission, food, and beverages at the Downtown YMCA location. At least one Raider Card is required for entry, but friends and family are welcomed to attend as well.
