At the start of each year, parking becomes an issue as an influx of new students commute to Grand Rapids Community College.
This year was no different. According to the GRCC campus police department, by 9:30 a.m. Monday the Lyon St. ramp was full and the Bostwick ramp had only 138 spaces available, before filling up at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday was the same with both ramps filled by 10:30 a.m.
Within the first few weeks the parking situation will improve as students find alternate methods of transportation and parking.
“Please be patient,” said Tony Meyers, GRCC police officer. “This happens every year and the situation improves.”
