Grand Rapids Community College President Steven Ender announced his plans to retire at today’s bi-annual Coffee and Conversation, an informal conversation with students, staff and faculty on the state of the college and future initiatives.
Ender plans to retire at the end of his contract with the college in June 2017.
“I have been blessed to have had a more than 40-year career working in higher education, the past seven at GRCC,” Ender said in a press release. “But, the time has come where I decided that my next step is retirement. I do not want this announcement to overshadow all of the great things we will do at the college during the coming year. However, I have made my decision and wanted to share it with the campus community sooner rather than later.”
Ender has been involved in higher education for over 40 years and, before GRCC, was the president of Westmoreland Community College in Youngwood, Pennsylvania.
