The probable cause hearing for Marcus Lamar Bivins, a Grand Rapids man accused of killing a woman near the Grand Rapids Community College Campus was adjourned at the request of his defense attorney.

Bivins appeared in the 61st District Court May 31 with his attorney John Grace, who said Bivins needs to be examined for competency, based on his interactions with him.

Judge Jeanine Nemesi LaVille ruled in favor after the prosecutor agreed with the adjournment.

Bivins is facing an open murder charge after he was seen dragging the body of Jeanne Lyn Huntoon, 34, of Grand Rapids near a GRCC parking ramp on April 30. Her body was found near the Bostwick Parking Ramp.
