The Grand Rapids Community College Campus Activities Board is showing free movies this semester at the Raider Grille. CC Cinema is organized by CAB President Ruben Resendiz and his team with a screening of “Zootopia” scheduled for Sept. 26 and 27 from noon until the movie ends. Free popcorn will be provided.

CAB was given the opportunity to show movies last school year by a company called ‘Swank’. They offer movies with the licenses to show them publicly and CAB thought it would be a great chance for students to relax and meet new people.

“We thought it would be a cool thing for students to enjoy between classes. It gives them something fun to do and to be able to chill out with friends,” Resendiz said.

To pick the movies, CAB takes suggestions on their OrgSync page by members. They also make suggestions amongst their team and then put it to a vote. The movie with the most votes is the one they show.

Currently they have not decided on the October movie or other movies to come. Once they have decided they will advertise via OrgSync and their Facebook page.
