Wireless printing is available to students on campus at Grand Rapids Community College. This means students are able to print from their laptop to a school printer on campus. Cost to print is 10 cents per page for black/white and 50 cents per page for color.
“I think it’s excellent to have,” said David Anderson, Chief Information Officer of GRCC. “We have had a lot of positive feedback about the condition and performance of it.”
Instructions on how to access and install the wireless printing can be found on the Information Technology support page on GRCC’s website. It is both Windows and Mac compatible and instructions for each are provided.
There have been a few complaints about the instructions being hard to follow, but they are working on making it easier to understand. Students can also call the IT help desk for more information or if they are having trouble with access.
The IT department is also aware that students new to campus may not know that wireless printing is available and are working on a way to change that.
“I think we try really hard to provide the students with things that will contribute to their education and this is one of them,” said Donovan Wallace, information technology infrastructure director.
