The Exercise Science Program houses the required wellness credits for students Wednesday at GRCC. Wellness courses include volleyball, spinning, yoga, personal defense and many other courses. The Exercise Science Department is partnering with counseling and the transfer center to help student with academic course work.
“The mission is to positively impact the health of students by offering academic course work and other learning opportunities that promote individual wellness,” said the adviser, Laura Kennett, said “The feedback so far has been fantastic.”
This is the fifth semester that the department has been running the advising days.
Today’s event will be covering subjects like what the student will need to complete an Associate’s degree along with a Michigan Transfer Agreement. The students will be informed on what they will need prior to transferring and how they can best prepare for their future. The instructor who will be presenting will review online tools and the MTA transfer guide.
Opportunities on how students can earn their associate’s degree and how to apply to graduate will be covered. Applying for MTA will also be discussed.
Advising day runs from 10:15 a.m to 11:30 a.m in Calkins Science building room 125/127. Drop in advising for those who can’t make it to the earlier times is 10 a.m to 1 p.m. There will be an additional drop-in advising session on Nov. 10 from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. For more information go to grcc.edu/exercisescience
