Michigan Blood is hosting a blood drive today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room on the second floor of the Student Center at Grand Rapids Community College.
The blood drive is open to all students and staff.
“You could save lives,” said Nate Statt, team leader of donor services. “Each unit of blood can go to three people, so you could be saving three lives.”
Michigan Blood is a locally-operated blood center serving primarily Michigan hospitals and their blood needs. They host blood drives across the state on a regular basis.
“It’s definitely for a good cause,” said Ruben Resendiz, GRCC Campus Activities Board president. “I mean, you’re potentially saving lives.”
CAB is co-hosting the event with Michigan Blood.
All students who attempt to donate will receive a voucher for a free pizza. Appointments are preferred and can be made online. For any questions relating to the blood drive, contact Kaylee Wolff, CAB adviser, at 616-234-4160.
