Music to listen to during exam week

It’s exam week for Grand Rapids Community College this week and no doubt students are running around trying to turn in last-minute assignments, and bargain for extra credit to turn that 97.9 percent into a 100 by the end of next week. While some search for “Exam Cram” parties to attend and all-night tutor sessions, we all need a playlist that helps us dominate and motivates us to finish the semester strong.

Here is my recommended “Make it Through Finals” playlist.  Good luck on finals and, to quote “The Hunger Games,” “May the odds forever be in your favor.”

  1.   “Alright” – Kendrick Lamar

No matter what I am going through, Kendrick always seems to say the right thing to get me back in focus. Let him remind you that you’ve got this and you will be alright!

  1.   “Happy” – Pharrell Williams

I know it may seem a bit overplayed but if you are getting discouraged, or frustrated with your studies, here is a quick reminder to stay happy and upbeat.

  1.   “Bailando” – Enrique Iglesias

Did you know that dancing can help you remember things? Pick up those note cards and dance it out!

  1.   “Make You Feel” – Alina Baraz

This song is very calming, if you are feeling anxious, just close your eyes and take a listen.

  1.   “Sweet Love” – Anita Baker

This is just a personal favorite for me. It has a good beat, and puts you in a good mood.

  1.   “Schoolin’ Life” – The Queen Bey(once)

This song reminds you that you are still young and to take your time and roll with the punches!

  1.   “I Got The Keys” – DJ Khaled

This song reminds you that you hold the keys to unlock your future, and we all know DJ Khaled only wants you to be great.

  1.   “Despite the Weather” – Kaytranada

This is great for focusing in a quiet space with your notes, calms you down and relaxes the mind.

  1.   “Overload” – Cool Company

This song may be too relatable when it comes to feeling overwhelmed!

  1.  “Dial’Afreeq” – The greatest, Erykah Badu

This song is funky enough to celebrate when finals is over, maybe even inspire you to do the robot.

With this playlist in mind I wish you good luck on finals. Take your time, breathe and be great!

  1. Love the idea of having a playlist to study to. Definetly going to have to give all these songs a listen this week! 🙂
