The annual Zoo Goes Boo event is kicking off tonight at the John Ball Zoo. Tonight’s Monster Mash event is sold out which was held for members, but the festivities for all guests will continue until Sunday and the same for the following weekend.
The events will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Some of the activities will include trick or treating through the scary trail, special live entertainment, treat booths, animal demos, and the zoo is completely decked out with spooky decorations. Individuals are able to dress up in costumes as long as they are appropriate.
Individuals who are interested can purchase tickets at the gate, the cost for members is $3 per person, $8 for non-members. Children under 1-year-old are free. You can also pick up a $1 off admissions coupon at a local Meijers.
All treats provided by the zoo this year will be wildlife friendly! The treats will be made with certified sustainable palm oil, which is deforestation free. Most of the time production of palm oil results in deforestation, but by buying candy made by companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), they are saving habitats for rhinos, lions, giraffes, and more.
