The Exercise Science department is hosting its Exercise Science Advising Day this Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse multipurpose room 213.
Along with the free food that will be provided, the Exercise Science faculty will be available for the duration to answer any and all questions about the Exercise Science program ranging from questions about the classes in the program to more information about transferring and careers in the field.
Jodi Gee, head of the Exercise Science Department, is among those who will be advising at the event. Along with being able to shed more light on what the department is about, Gee is eager to help students move forward in exercise science.
“Students who attend our advising days can declare their major, create schedules for Summer ’19, Fall ’20 and Winter ’20, as well as ask any questions they have about the field of Exercise Science,” Gee said.
The Exercise Science Department covers a wide range of topics in its courses and programs available at Grand Rapids Community College. Some of its more popular courses/programs include Introduction to Sport Management, Healthy Living, Yoga, Zumba and First Aid and CPR. These courses/programs can lead to careers in sports media, health promotion/disease prevention, clinical sports medicine and many more that the Exercise Science faculty can cover at the advising day.
In addition to information about the courses, the faculty can answer questions about transferring into the program at a four-year school. Transfer programs for Exercise Science at GRCC include Grand Valley State University, Western Michigan University and Aquinas.
Check in to Ford Fieldhouse 213 to learn more information from the faculty about the department and its goals.
