The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees is slated to meet Monday, March 18 to discuss and take action on the renaming of the Main Building, located at 143 Bostwick Ave., to the Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall.

The renaming of the building comes after Finkelstein’s donation to GRCC’s Broader Vision Campaign. The sum of the donation has not yet been released. Finkelstein’s donation to the Broader Vision Campaign will go towards the Main Building to upgrade learning spaces for faculty and students.

Another action item on the agenda are the 2019-2020 tuition rates, which the board discussed during their last meeting in February. It was projected during the meeting tuition would increase 1 percent for the 2019-2020 school year.

Monday’s meeting will also include a community impact report from Misty McClure-Anderson and Julie Parks and a finance update from Lisa Freiburger.

Monday’s 4:15 p.m. meeting in the Board Library (500 Main) marks the last one of the Winter 2019 semester. The board is set to meet again at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, May 6 for a budget work session in the Board Library.
