The Grand Rapids Community College Voice Faculty Recital was originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. featuring faculty of GRCC’s music department. Due to one of the performers getting sick with COVID-19, the recital will now be postponed to a later date.
The live recital was to feature baritone player William Bokhout and pianist Caleb Wenzel. They will be performing in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and take place at the GRCC Albert P. Smith Music Center, at the Linn Maxwell Keller Recital Hall.
“Both Bokhout and Wenzel bring 20-plus years of experience in the music industry,” said Kelsee Brozek, a support professional for GRCC’s music department about the level of experience the performers had.
Bokhout has been a resident baritone with Opera Grand Rapids for 25 seasons and has performed more than 35 different roles. You can learn more about Bokhout here.
Wenzel is the current Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at GRCC. He won the 2019 Respighi Prize in Conducting. You can learn more about Wenzel here.
“Wenzel is a great pianist and singer and Bokhout is an amazing baritone player and musician,” Brozek said. “I am really excited to see both of them collaborate, perform, and bring their skill sets together. They’re both incredible musicians.”
The music department has yet to announce a date for when the concert will be rescheduled. For more information about the location, contact information, and other future music performances, check here.
