Grand Rapids Community College Music presents the Kent Philharmonic Orchestra Concert. The event will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. May 5 at the Saint Cecilia Music Center in the Royce Auditorium.

Libor Ondras, Director of Orchestras and String Specialist at GRCC, highlighted  some things to look forward to about the concert.

“Return of the maestro to Grand Rapids, the stellar performance of Bruch concerto, Brahms symphony no.1, orchestra members include professionals, students, community members, and giving back to the community,” said Ondras.

The KPO will perform various songs, from Mendelssohn – “Overture to the Midsummer Night’s Dream” (inspired by Shakespeare’s play) and Bruch – “Double Concerto” for violin and viola, with musicians Dylana Jenson – violin (violin virtuoso and silver medalist of Tchaikovsky competition), Ondras – viola (award-winning violinist and Telly Award conductor, Associate Professor at GRCC), and David Lockington – Conductor emeritus of Grand Rapids Orchestra.
