Want a healthy way to alleviate stress and have some fun? Well GRCC is now gaining a Yoga club. This new group is still being developed so not a lot of information is available yet.
GRCC student Laura Chittenden’s group is open to students and staff. She intends on focusing on doing classes based on poses and meditation. The current plan is to focus on posing on Tuesdays and meditation on Thursdays. As of right now, students will need to provide their own mats when participating. Classes will also offer different levels based on experience as to not overwhelm or underwhelm anybody.
With the club still in the process of forming, nothing is concrete yet. But the organizer has made a form to fill out to give her an idea of what students are able to do. You can suggest what you think the club should look like as well as volunteer to take on a leadership role.
“I’d like people to know that this club is for all levels of Yogi, (people that do yoga) for people that are experienced with it, people who are beginners to it, people who don’t know much about it (and) haven’t done it before,” Chittenden said.
Chittenden hosted a sort of open house event at the GRCC library on April 17 in order to meet students, But if you’d still like to get ahold of her, please fill out the google form or intact her at laurachittenden@email.Grcc.edu.
