On Sept. 13, at the Juan Olivarez Plaza, the president of Grand Rapids Community College hosted a “Dr. Pepper with Dr. Lepper” event to allow students to get to know the president, while also celebrating his first fall semester.
The event featured pizza and breadsticks prepared by GRCC’s culinary department, ‘80s music, and Dr. Pepper for the students with a stand that included fun facts about the president.
It was an opportunity for students grab a bite and meet and chat with the president.
“Fostering a sense of belonging is very important,” Lepper said. “Meeting with students and learning about their experiences at events like this is one way to help build belonging at GRCC.”
An investiture will be held tomorrow (Sept. 14) at Fountain Street Church from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to celebrate Lepper as the 11th president of GRCC.
