Grand Rapids Community College has always represented a diverse set of cultures, and on April 8, we will see that pride gleam as nine different flags will be waved at the annual 2024 Culture Fest.

The event is being held at the Ford Fieldhouse, between noon – 4 p.m., and all students are welcome to participate. The event will be hosted by the International Language Club.

Culture Fest will offer GRCC students the opportunity to explore nine different countries through a booth setup. The booth organizers will offer different perks in an attempt to immerse you into their culture, such as food, candy, dance, music, games, henna and a raffle.

The nine countries that will be represented include: India, South Korea, Mexico, France, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, China, Congo and Haiti. Congo and Ukraine are both new editions to the event.

There will also be a K-Pop group from Aquinas College doing performances.

The event has a budget of $4,500 and was supported through a fundraiser which raised $450.

The event will be supported by the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Black Africana Student Union, and the Student Life Office.

It’s ok to drop into the event, but students are encouraged to RSVP for the event via Raider Connect. This can be accessed from the grcc.edu webpage, and can be found by typing “explore Raider Connect” into the search bar. From there, the RSVP information can be found by typing “Culture Fest” into the grcc.campuslabs search bar.
