On Wednesday, April 17, the Grand Rapids Community College Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted a Field Day at the Ford Fieldhouse.
Over the past year, CAB has hosted events like a Barbie Movie Night, the Enchanted Snow Dance, several make-and-take events and comedy shows.
Activities for the Field Day included an inflatable obstacle course full of climbing walls and slides known as “Adrenaline Rush II,” an inflatable funhouse in which participants hit colored buttons when they lit up, cornhole, Jenga, Connect Four, ladder ball, a yoga session, and laser tag. A raffle was held at the end of the event. Powerade and other fruit-flavored health drinks were provided.
“We heard that the previous CAB members did this before, kinda with a bunch of blow-up stuff so we kind of want to do that again,” said CAB president Brayden Smith. “We wanted to do something that was kind of active for students to do as well as engaging with each other. Something to take their mind off of studying for exams.”
Smith said they were expecting “50 to 75…maybe a hundred” people to show up to the Field Day experience.
