Hi, for those who don’t know me my name is Bryson and I am a feature editor here at The Collegiate. Summer is definitely my favorite season hands down and for the summer I decided to release a column series about what’s around here locally to do. I’m not sure about anyone else but I’m always down for a good time and trying something new or going places. You never know the beautiful memories you can create from a simple yes.
In today’s economy, going out can be rather expensive but there are many local events that are low-cost or even free.
Here are some of the events happening this month!
GR Pride Festival-Grand Rapids
June 22, 2024
Recognizing queer liberation has been a part of history pushing back against systematic oppression to now be able to take time to celebrate Pride with great music and even greater vibes.
This festival will take place at Calder Plaza 320 Ottawa. Click here for more information.
Food Trucks at the Airport- Cascade
Every Wednesday June-August
Give yourself a reason to go to the airport without even having to book a plane ticket. You get to be out in the open watching planes land while supporting local food truck vendors. Sounds like a cool thing to do on a random Wednesday right?
Located at the Gerald R. Ford Airport 5500 44th Street Cascade Michigan for more information click here.
I really hope this column series helps you add some fun summer activities to your summer to-do list.
