The Grand Rapids Community College women’s soccer team faced a tough away match against St. Clair County Community College that ended in a 0-1 loss. Following a previous loss against Kellogg Community College, making the Raiders overall record 0-2-1 on the season.
The Raiders gave it their all, but couldn’t win the match against the Skippers for what would’ve been the first time in GRCC women’s soccer history. Jason Hill, the returning head coach for the women’s team, shared his thoughts on the matches and what could have improved.
“The overall performance of our team, we did what we wanted to do, we just didn’t convert the chances we created,” Hill said. “Our pace of play and decision making have to improve, but that will continue to get better as the season progresses. I am looking forward to continuing to build on our style of play and making some tweaks to help put us in a better position to win the match. We will be ready.”
The Raiders will push to get their first victory of the season against Owen’s Community College at 4 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 7 at Davenport University Field in Kentwood. For more information, head to Grccraider.com.
