On Tuesday, Dec. 10 between 6:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., a 2022 white Nissan Altima was stolen from a parking area behind a home on the 100 block of Prospect NE, located near the Grand Rapids Community College’s DeVos Campus.

After the theft was reported, the GRCC Police Department sent out a safety advisory reminding students to take steps to protect their property, including locking up vehicles while they are unattended, whether parked in a GRCC parking ramp or a public area. Students are also urged not to leave valuables in plain sight inside of cars and to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially in parking areas. Students are also advised to park on campus in one of the GRCC parking ramps near other parked cars.

The care theft remains under investigation and no suspects were in custody when the safety advisory was issued.
