This Thursday, Feb. 13, the Grand Rapids Community College Campus Activities Board will be hosting a winter dance. This event will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is a free event.

The Winter Dance: City Lights & Starry Nights is at John Ball Zoo’s Bissell Tree House, located at 1300 Fulton St. W, in downtown Grand Rapids, only a 14-minute drive away from the downtown campus.

This dance is a great social event for students to meet new people and have fun. Students are allowed to bring non-GRCC guests as well.

They are able to make memories and spend time with their friends whether they are from GRCC or outside of GRCC,” stated Campus Activities Board President Brayden Smith in an email to The Collegiate.

This event will consist of dancing, food and some picturesque spots. There will be, “Great food that we have lined up, a great view of the city and night with all the city lights, and some great music and photo opportunities,” stated Smith.

John Ball Zoo’s Bissell Tree House is a unique venue situated at one of the highest points in Grand Rapids where there is a spacious view of downtown.

There was one dance hosted during the fall semester for homecoming week at the Applied Technology Center building. The winter dance will be the only dance for the rest of this semester, as well. So now is the time to spend a night out with friends enjoying music, food and the city.
