At Grand Rapids Community College, the end of the Winter 2026 semester is approaching, and some students may have struggled to keep up with classes. On Wednesday, April 15, the Center for Counseling and Well-Being is hosting What’s Next? Bouncing Back from a Tough Semester to reflect on some of the challenges from the semester, find support on campus, make a plan for next semester, and learn strategies for bouncing back. This workshop is part of the Rest, Regulate, Relate workshop series.

The event will be located at the Student Center at the Raider Grill from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be free food and refreshments, as well as parking passes. Becca Lovell from the Counseling Center will be speaking at the workshop and will be available to talk to students.

“The workshop will be a mixture of information and interactive activities, such as group discussions, small pair-and shares, and individual reflection opportunities,” Lovell said. “Participants will also receive a variety of handouts of tools and resources they can take with them.”

The Rest, Regulate, Relate workshop series focuses on helping students to gain knowledge and develop skills to improve their physical, social and emotional well-being.

“The ‘What’s Next?’ workshop seeks to promote well-being by addressing the pain that can come from ‘failure’, setbacks or not meeting our expectations, and providing tools, strategies and techniques for the healing that is often needed in order to move forward and continue working towards our goals,” said Lovell.

Come join your fellow students and learn some practical tips to have a great next semester.
