The Grand Rapids Community College Gender Studies Department will be hosting an open info session from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5.
The info session, hosted by Professor Emily Pain, take place in the Reading Room in White Hall at the Devos campus.
“We’re hosting this event to help answer questions that prospective students may have about Gender Studies courses and the pre-major and to bring awareness to our program,” stated Pain.
Through Gender Studies, students can analyze how gender and cultural expectations shape the lives around them, including their own, as well as exploring themes of social justice.
“We encourage students to attend to learn more about the value of a Gender Studies education and to have the opportunity to chat with faculty who teach our courses and with current/prior students,” Pain stated.
The info session will feature free pizza, vegan wraps, and cookies, and attending students will also have the opportunity to sign up to win GRCC parking passes.
