As we reach the end of the fall semester at Grand Rapids Community College, students all around campus are being reminded how overwhelming the exam season can be. And although it can get tough during the last couple of classes, just know it’s possible.

Here are a couple tips that you can incorporate into your study routine to help you ace those exams.

Get enough sleep

During exam season, feeling tired and drinking coffee is an essential for some students just to get the job done. And although if you prioritize these things over sleep, it can be detrimental to your health as well as your academic performance. Getting enough sleep every night or even taking a quick power nap when you feel like you need it will help improve your focus when wrapping up assignments and taking those exams.

Create a work schedule

Sometimes when class work starts to pile up for multiple classes at once, creating a schedule can help organize and plan out what you need to prioritize. There are many different ways to create a schedule. Apps such as Google Calendar, Notion and Habit Tracker are just a few examples that can make sure you get that A. Investing in a physical planner to carry around can also help for those who would rather write out their plans.

Take breaks

Stepping away from your study space can help you take your mind off things for a bit. Walking around, stretching your legs and even getting a quick snack to help you get back into the groove once you make your way back to your work. Setting up a timer from your phone to break some time in between those study sessions can also help to keep you motivated.

Know your study space

Everyone studies and gets their work done differently. Find a study environment that fits your style will help you feel more productive. Learning where you perform the best is what will help you to get the job done. Whether it’s at the library, in your room or at the Raider Grille, figuring out where you feel most comfortable will get you pressing that turn-in button like no other.

Stay positive

Times like these get us to start second guessing ourselves. Thinking negatively and having a negative mindset can have an impact on your work and productivity. Keeping a positive outlook on things will help you achieve and turn that dream into a reality!

Implementing helpful studydifferent tactics to your routine will get you to cross that finish line in no time. So remember, try your best. You got this!
