On Wednesday, April 1, the Campus Activities Board hosted its second Bingo Night of the year. The three-hour event took place in the Student Center, and included music, free refreshments, and as always, plenty of prizes given out.

The prizes included candy, indoor and outdoor games, Raider merch and apparel, lifestyle products, and electronics. Prizes were awarded for every bingo, with the more expensive prizes requiring specialty bingos to win.
Danielle Burchard, 19, of Byron Center, went home with a jigsaw puzzle and an eye-bag treatment set.
“I came out because I love bingo. I’m basically like every single grandma in the retirement home … and I think people come here because they like free stuff. And free stuff is cool, especially when it comes to college kids, because we’re all broke,” Burchard said.
Jason Perez, 22, of Grand Rapids, who won a $20 Subway gift card, agrees.
“I do love bingo, but also it’s just nice … It is a good distraction, especially from, like, school work for a bit,” said Perez.

Perez and Burchard were two attendants of what turned out to be a packed event. Every table was occupied, and players participated intensely, often shouting out in celebration. The result was a competitively-charged, but consistently good-natured atmosphere.
Juliette Leon, Communications Director for CAB and one of the people running the event, was satisfied with the turnout.
“I am very glad that we had so many people come,” Leon said. “It felt like everyone was very excited for the prizes, and trying to keep that excitement going throughout the night was also very fun.”
