I read your opinion on motorcycle parking not being “fair” and laughed the whole time.
First, I ride a motorcycle, and I do take liberties of the free parking. I enjoy this perk of being a student at GRCC, as does everyone else that rides a motorized two wheeled vehicle. We park where no other cars are allowed (as you mentioned). That means it doesn’t matter whether my bike is there or not, the lot fills up just as fast. My being there doesn’t effect car drivers one bit, so why should I have to pay to park? If I paid to park, I would take up a whole parking spot just like a car does. It would be my right because I paid. Imagine what would happen if you pulled in, and the gate said “FULL”, and you saw three bikes taking up three spots. You would be angry, knowing full well that those three bikes could be grouped together in one space, but they are exercising their rights to take a full spot. If GRCC started making motorcycles pay for parking, the parking situation would get worse. Take a deep breath, tell the whiny car drivers that life ain’t fair, and get over it. Don’t rock the boat on the parking issue, unless you want to deal with 50 or so very angry bikers…..
