Halloween activities: Part two


The Haunt

Details: West Michigan’s best-known haunted attractions is back for it’s 13th year. Screams of terror make their way back on October 4 with over 20,000 square feet of rooms, scenes, mazes and terrifying creepers, including “Madness”, “3D Coulrophobia”, and the all new “Ghost Town” maze. Tickets range from $20 to $30 with discounts for groups available.

Hours/Dates of Operations: Oct. 4 and 5, 10 to 13, 17 to 20, 23 and Nov. 2; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Psycho Ward & Nightmares

Details: Delve into the mind-altering attractions, “Psych Ward” and “Nightmares”, at the Haunt Park at the Kalamazoo Speedway. With new disturbing methods of dismemberment and bloodletting, the Haunt Park will force you to confront your darkest dreams and inner demons. Intended for ages 12 and older. Tickets for the two attractions are $15.

Klackle Orchards

Details: Wagon hayrides, apples, an enchanted pumpkin ride, petting zoo, coaster slide area, and spooktacular family fun awaits you at Klackle Orchards for Fall Family Fun Days and Weekends. Admission is $6 per person.

Hours/Dates of Operation: Sept. 7 through Oct. 29; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m..

Post Family Farm

Details: Saturdays of hayrides, pumpkin patch, pumpkin train rides, farm animals, corn maze, craft games, and fun at the Post Family Farm. The admission to the wonder and adventure is $7 wristbands for activities per person.

Halloween at Ionia

Details: The first time event featuring the largest cash prize for best costume in the state at $6,000, heated tents, live DJs, games, haunting beverages, and more entice all at McFadden’s. Tickets are $10 in advance. The event is on Oct. 26, 2013.

The Famous Pumpkin Train

Details: Feast your eyes on The Great Pumpkin, as well as Scarecrow and Little Crow on the thrilling Coopersville & Marne Railway, while local actress Eva Swietec and her cast sing and dance during the approximately 1hr.15min. ride. At the end, each child may pick a pumpkin from the patch to take home with them. Admission is $15.50 adults, $14.50 seniors, and $13.50 for children.

Movies in the Park

Details: Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. continues its Movies in the Park series at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. The family-friendly film Hocus Pocus begins at dusk, followed by the Rocky Horror Picture Show for teens and adults. Admission to this event is free for all.

Hours/Dates of Operation: Friday, Oct. 25 through Halloween, starts at 5:30 p.m..
