The Grand Rapids Community College Women’s Volleyball team continued their undefeated in conference status with a Thursday win against the Bruins of Kellogg Community College.
“We really wanted to push ourselves,” said Coach Chip Will. “We’ve been pretty good most of the year, now we’re trying to push ourselves to be great.”

The Raiders used this game as a chance to run some different plays and work on things they have been practicing.
“We’ve got to utilize these conference matches, so when we get into regionals, and get into nationals, hopefully, we’ll have experience with running a little more high paced (offense) against some of the top teams in the country,” Will said.
The game was also also provided an opportunity for more players to get in the game.
“We’re able to utilize some of these conference matches by getting a lot of our kids from our team some playing time because at the end of the year we’re going to need certain kids to step up and come into situations,” Will said. so the “The more time we can get some of our bench some (playing) time throughout the year the more experience they’ll have when it matters at the end of the year,” Will said.
The Raiders’ next game is 6:30 p.m. Tues. Oct. 8, at the Ford Fieldhouse.
