Raiders volleyball cinches up NJCAA Regional Tournament

By Teagan Burns

Grand Rapids Community College women’s volleyball team won the National Junior College Athletic Association Regional Tournament this past weekend advancing them into the NJCAA Division II National tournament. The teams the Raiders beat to achieve this included the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Cougars, Sinclair Community College, Vincennes University and Muskegon Community College.

“We really worked together as a team and we were really focused,” said freshman Amanda Glaze.
The team ends the conference season with a 12-2 record, bringing the entire season to a record of 31-6.
“I think we’ll continue to do well, we’ve prepared the whole season for this so as long as we keep playing like this and playing consistent we’ll do great,” said freshman Abbie Gortsema.

The Raiders’ next national tournament game time has not been set yet, but it will be the weekend of Nov. 21-23 in Perrysburg, OH.
