At 11:24 a.m. Oct. 13, a GRCC employee called the GRCC police department about a loud, obnoxious person disrupting students outside of the library, in between the science building and the Applied Technology Center.
Two GRCC officers went over to the area, but didn’t find him. They then searched the library and found the man matching the description.
The two officers approached, identified the man and asked him what he was doing on campus.
The man explained he wanted to see an old boss of his. He said he had been in the hospital the previous night for alcoholism and figured he was close to the college, so he would try to see him that day.
The officers explained to him that if he wasn’t a student, he was not allowed to be on campus. The man was told that GRCC is an alcohol/drug-free campus. The officers said the man “reeked” of alcohol and his physical state suggested he was drunk.
The man admitted he was drunk. He was told he’d be arrested if he came back to campus intoxicated.
