GRCC is hosting its annual choir and instrumental ensembles holiday concert at the St. Cecilia Music Center Sunday Dec. 4.
The choir ensemble will take stage at 3 p.m. and the instrumental ensemble, which includes the wind and small string instruments, will take the stage at 6 p.m.
The Jazz Combo and Jazz Orchestra is holding a benefit show for the Ray Gill Instrumental Jazz Scholarship Tuesday Dec. 6. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at GRCC’s Applied Technology Center, 151 Fountain Street.
This benefit will donate all proceeds to the scholarship fund that was founded five years ago in remembrance of Dan Kovatz, a former faculty member at GRCC. Two jazz scholarships will be given away to either a Jazz Combo or Jazz Orchestra student with the funds collected. When speaking with Kevin Dobreff, music program director, he added “Dan was a very fine saxophone player.”
Tickets for all events will be available at the door. The cost is $3 for students/seniors and $5 to the general public.
