The week ahead includes a number of fun things to partake in around Grand Rapids.
“Super Happy Funtime Burlesque” will be hosted at 10 p.m., Friday Jan 10 by the Pyramid Scheme, 68 Commerce SW. The event features local burlesque dancers and music. Tickets are $20 for general admission, and $25 for VIP tickets. Guests 21 and up are welcome.
“Mega 80’s” will be playing at 8 pm., Saturday Feb. 11 at The Intersection, 133 Grandville Ave SW. The local group will be performing a wide range of 80’s hit songs. Tickets are $12 and guests 21 and up are welcome.
“The Drunken Retort” is hosted at 8 p.m. every Monday night at Stella’s Lounge, 53 Commerce Ave. The night features local poetry, acoustic music and comedy. The event is free and features several drink specials. Guests age 21 and up are welcome.
“Rushmore” a film by Wes Anderson will be screened at 8 p.m.Tuesday, Jan. 24 at The Wealthy Theater, 1130 Wealthy St. SE. The film is a comedy-drama starring Jason Schwartzman, who is an eccentric student who has a crush on the new elementary teacher. However, so does Bill Murray. Tickets are $6 for non-members and $5 for members. Members can also purchase alcohol at the theater. Guests of all ages are welcome.
