All students are invited to a Financial Aid workshop on Monday Feb. 6 to learn more about how to improve student budgeting.
This workshop will revolve around responsible education and repayment strategies. It will outline a straightforward approach to education funding, understanding the relative cost of a student loan, and loan repayment tools and tips on managing your student loans.
This is the time of the year when students are completing their FAFSA and determining the cost of their education.
“This is a great opportunity for students to hear about all funding opportunities,” said Veronica Beitner, GRCC’s Loan Repayment Specialist.
The workshop benefits the entire student body by teaching the participants the overall topic of budgeting. This workshop will also provide students with information on many financial resources. All students are welcome to join the workshop. Students nearing graduation are recommended to attend to review repayment options.
“The cost of education is an investment into your future that should be factored into your budget,” Beitner said.
Jennifer Chandler from Sallie Mae will be presenting at the workshop. Take away information will be offered to those in attendance and students may stay for as long as they can. Students are encouraged to bring their lunches.
GRCC recognizes that students chose to attend the college as well as deal with the costs of studying at GRCC. This workshop was planned to develop a financial wellness program to help students. This will help students better understand the cost of their education and to improve their financial literacy.
The workshop will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m in the Student Center, room 336.
