Grand Rapids Community College is preparing for Bill Pink’s Friday investiture as the college’s 10th president and hosting a series of campus events to celebrate
Pink was named president on Nov. 21, 2016. Before becoming president, Pink was the dean of workforce development.
Each day of the week will have a different activity or lecture to lead up to the investiture. Students and faculty alike are invited to the events to meet Pink.
The week’s schedule looks like this:
Mon. Sept.25
“Relevant and Responsive” at the Lakeshore
This reception is a chance for the campus community to hear Pink’s vision for GRCC’s future.
The lecture will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Midtown Center in Holland, MI.
Tues. Sept. 26
“Today and Tomorrow: The GRCC Alumni Journey – This is how we did it!”
The panel of GRCC alumni include:
Tony Helmholdt, Hilda Martinez-Gutierrez, Denavvia Mojet and Sammy A. Puebles.
The event will be held at Sneden Hall on DeVos Campus from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Wed. Sept. 27
“Pancakes with President Pink: Student Breakfast.”
Because who doesn’t love pancakes? The breakfast will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Main Gallery in the Main building.
Thurs. Sept. 28
“Elevating our community together: A community Reception.”
The reception will be held at The Heritage restaurant at the Applied Technology Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Fri. Sept. 29
“Community Business Conversation with GRCC’s 10th President.”
This event will be held at the M-TEC building from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Investiture of Bill Pink. The event will be held at the Fountain Street Church at 2 p.m.
