Shots fired at Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University and area schools were under lockdown Friday morning following a fatal shooting in Campbell Hall on the southwest area of the Mount Pleasant campus.

Two people are confirmed dead, the victims were not students of Central Michigan University.

A search is underway for the alleged shooter, James Eric Davis Jr.

Davis was reportedly released from the McLaren-Central Michigan Hospital before the shooting.

Michigan State Police, Mount Pleasant Police, and the Central Michigan University Police Department have set up a perimeter to try to pinpoint Davis’ location.

According to campus and local police, Davis fled north and is believed to still be in the city.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the victims are Davis’ parents.
