Goodbye.
My loyal readers and fans, this is the last “This Week in Hollywood.” It’s heartbreaking, I know. But the time has come for me to move to a different school, and thus my time here at The Collegiate is over. I loved writing this every week, and it will always hold a special place in my heart as my first weekly column. Thank you to everyone who followed my work and supported me in all of my endeavors.
Anyways, we’re just going to get on with it now.
Blake lively moonlighted as Baby Spice.
This is what dreams are made of.
Bria Madrid, a 24-year-old living in California is super into the Spice Girls (who isn’t though?) and posted a photo to her Twitter from a 1997 Spice Girls concert.
In the picture, she’s posing with someone dressed up as Baby Spice (AKA Emma Bunton), and IT’S BLAKE LIVELY. The Gossip Girl actress is sporting pigtails and white bedazzled platform shoes that would probably break an ankle on a regular human being, but we all know Blake Lively is not a regular human.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Madrid spoke about how shocked she was to find the picture.
“I had all my bridesmaids over and we were sorting through baby photos for my upcoming bridal shower,” she explained. “When I originally saw the picture, I thought the girl looked like Blake Lively but I didn’t think too much about it. But then everyone freaked out and said ‘Bria, that’s Blake Lively!’ and I realized they were right!”
As if that’s not already special enough, Lively herself even retweeted, verifying that it is indeed her in the picture!
“My secret is out…” she captioned it.
And on Instagram, Lively responded to Madrid and told her that she still tells the story of when someone actually thought that she was Baby Spice! AND THEN, Baby Spice herself, Emma Bunton, commented on it when Lively Instagrammed it.
“So cute, you’re rocking those pigtails @blakelively.” I don’t even have words. Of course Lively responded, saying what we all would say.
“I’m officially (skull and bones emoticon). Forever bowing down to you. I cannot believe you know who I am. This will never be normal,” she wrote.
I, too, will never be normal again.
Carrie Underwood is pregnant!
It’s been a hell of a Wednesday for Underwood.
First, the 35-year-old country music superstar announced she will be embarking on the Cry Pretty 360 Tour starting in May 2019. Then, she announced she is pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher, 38. The couple also has a son, Isaiah Michael Fisher, 3.
“You might be wondering or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’ Well…yay! Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding a little fish to our pond,” Underwood said in an Instagram video, as the camera panned up to balloons spelling out B-A-B-Y. “This has been a dream come true with the album and baby news and all that stuff,” she added. “We are just so excited and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us and be a part of this with us. I love you guys. We’ll see you on the road in 2019. Have a great day!”
Underwood recently spoke about wanting to have more children in Redbook. “I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she confessed in the September issue. “We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.”
Along with being pregnant, Underwood, who releases her new album “Cry Pretty” Sept. 14, broke the news to fans via Instagram and Twitter in conjunction with her pregnancy announcement. “The Cry Pretty Tour 360—yeah, I said tour—it’s coming your way in 2019. We had so much fun in the round on the last tour, because I got to be closer to you guys and see your beautiful faces and interact with you guys, so I’m so excited to be doing another brand new 360-degree show,” she said. “And, of course, we would have nothing less than an amazing lineup…It’s gonna be absolutely amazing.”
Underwood has arranged for a $1 donation from each ticket sold to be contributed to Danita’s Children, an organization that provides a safe haven for abandoned and vulnerable kids in Haiti.
Gaga is ready to take on Vegas.
Lady Gaga confirmed on Tuesday that she will be launching a Las Vegas residency at the end of the year, at the Park Theater at the new Park MGM resort. The superstar will be performing a total of 27 dates, but she’ll be putting on different shows: “Lady Gaga Enigma” and “Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano.”

Bill Hornbuckle, president of MGM Resorts International, added, “Working with Lady Gaga and her team has been a career highlight for me. What she is planning for Las Vegas audiences is nothing short of spectacular.”
