Clear of the polar vortex, Grand Rapids is now being onset by further weather fluctuations as conditions worsen again tonight and carry over to Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, Grand Rapids can expect freezing rain and sleet, with a possible tenth of an inch to an inch of ice on roads and elevated surfaces starting Tuesday night.
With the main threat being ice, Meteorologist Brandon Hoving of the National Weather Service advised people to be aware of travel delays. Hoving said fluctuating temperatures are expected throughout the week.
“It looks like we kinda get back on the rollercoaster again and warm up on Thursday, well above freezing, potentially into the 40s,” Hoving said. “And then cooling back down again on Friday, when we may be in the teens by the end of the day with some snow showers.”
