TRiO will be hosting the GRCC’s Scholars Poster Presentation.
Grand Rapids Community College students present their final products of their research projects that began over the summer.
GRCC students worked with Michigan Tech’s MICUP programs, University of Michigan’s UROP program of Summer Health Professions Education Program.
Anna Clark, an Academic Advisor in the TRIO/Student Support Services Program explains the poster presentation. “The posters are the final product of the investigation/ research projects the students were involved in over the summer. Usually part of a group/ team led by a professor at the institutions’ summer programs.”
The GRCC students who participated worked hard on their research/ investigations are given the chance to showcase their hard work and share what they learned that expanded from seven to 10 weeks.
“We would like GRCC students to learn about opportunities for them, to come and learn about what summer research is all about and also talk to the students who participated,” Clark stated. “We would like for GRCC students to learn what different programs offer and to begin learning what it takes to be able to participate.”
The Scholars Poster Presentation and snacks for students who attend will be held Wednesday, October 23 at 11:30 a.m – 3:30 p.m. located at the Raider Grille room 205.
