After watching the series “GRCC Students Get Real About Their Second Pandemic Semester”, Stacey Heisler, Grand Rapids Community College’s Program Director for the Counseling and Career Development Center, sat down with The Collegiate to talk about what they offer for students.
During an interview with The Collegiate, Heisler noted that during the COVID-19 pandemic the number of students seeking guidance from the center has decreased from pre-COVID-19 numbers.
Heisler knows that this has been a tough year for everyone and even without a pandemic life can be a struggle. But she wants everyone to know that GRCC’s counseling center staff will do everything they can to support students in a private manner where they feel safe to talk about anything and everything.
The counseling center is free for current GRCC students enrolled in classes and open Monday through Friday. Currently, the counseling center staff is meeting with students via video chat. Their hours are listed below.
Monday – 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m
Tuesday – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday – 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Thursday & Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
