The Collegiate wins ‘Best Website’ along with other awards at the MCCPA contest

The Collegiate won “Best Website” for the fourth consecutive year and 18 other awards in the 2022 Michigan Community College Press Association journalism contest.

The association seeks to recognize student journalists across the state and the awards were presented virtually by the MCCPA conference host, Central Michigan University’s Department of Journalism, after a slate of successful media professionals served as contest judges.

This year, GRCC’s student publication, The Collegiate, brought home many top awards. Read on for the details: 

First Amendment Reporting

1st Place: Anthony Clark Jr. for “Courageous Conversation: GRPD and GRCCPD leaders discuss community policing”

Honorable Mention: Sean Chase, for “GRCC Board freezes tuition, gives President Pink a raise with approval of $115.4 million budget”
