The GRCC Votes! Project is a cross campus collaboration created to engage Grand Rapids Community College students with voter registration and other information. All students, staff and faculty interested in volunteering to help register and educate the campus community are welcome to sign up here. This will include tabling events and a street style approach such as interacting with the public or handing out flyers.Ā

ā€œIn the past our campus has hosted more robust voter registration awareness and in the absence of it the past few years, some staff from Student Life, the Library, and Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) wanted to put together resources to help our campus community,ā€ stated Ashley Fox, assistant director of Student Life and Conduct in an email to The Collegiate ā€œWe hope that the various efforts are helpful for awareness sake given its an election year, but also to help students and staff understand the importance of participating and having confidence before arriving at the polls.ā€Ā

Additionally, the GRCC Library is offering their own voter guide here that includes information and resources focused on voter registration as well as a kiosk available during open hours.Ā Ā

These events will be taking place throughout the main campus and also at the Sneden Hall location. To find out more, the project will begin Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the first floor of the Student Center Building and on level G2 in Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall. Their final day will be on Nov. 8.Ā Ā
