While there are not any activities on campus for students this weekend, there are plenty of cheap and fun activities around the city for students to get up to this weekend.

Featured Event: West Michigan Cuddle Connection

Cost: $6.99 RSVP

Date: Feb. 4

Time: 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Where: The Grand Rapids Yoga Company

Sherri Rodgers started the West Michigan Cuddle Connection in 2019 in her home and it has grown to 450 members.

“I started this in my house because I am an alternative touch therapist and have been studying platonic cuddling,” Rodgers said, adding that this event is “very inclusive, open, and safe for members of the LGBT community and includes a class to discuss consent and the importance of yes and no.”.

The workshop offers a variety of information about the therapy of touch from professional therapists.

“People all over the board come to observe and cuddle, we have members from 18-85,” Rodgers said.

The event may seem a bit odd but it is a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy some snacks. This is a non-profit organization to help “speak to a level of disconnectedness,” Rodgers explained. This is based on but not affiliated with Cuddle Party Inc.

Sundays are for relaxation. When Grand Rapids doesn’t have many intriguing events for students on Sunday, the internet will. If you are feeling nostalgic, Club Penguin 2 is now out. The original game we all played as kids has sadly died alongside adobe flash, while we can never have the true Club Penguin experience again the next best thing is here. Buy Puffles and accessories with in game currency earned in mini games and meet new friends in the penguin lobby. This fun game will suck up all the extra free time you have especially on a Sunday, but don’t forget your homework!
