Grand Rapids Community College’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is hosting its next diversity lecture featuring Ricardo Tavárez, an Afro-Latino, queer artist and writer Wednesday, April 12.
According to the ODEI synopsis of his lecture “A Life out Loud: Afro-Latino, Gay and Proud” ,Tavárez will be speaking on topics including social justice, faith queerness, and more. The speaker is a senior pastor and founder of En Vivo, a queer-oriented Christian group based in Grand Rapids.
Additionally Tavárez runs a religious non-profit called New City Neighbors. A community farming group that’s centered around supporting the local youth from every walk of life.
