Grand Rapids Community College is taking social events to the next level. From Oct. 16-20 GRCC will be celebrating homecoming week.
GRCC is starting the fun off with fun activities and spirit days to interest students. This is the time to enjoy the Raider spirit and get active with the community with pumpkin carving contests, tailgates, and more.
Activities aren’t just for students either. GRCC’s Campus Activities Board has set up fun activities for the professors and staff as well like, office decorating contests, a chili cook-off, and more.
Jack Hageman, 21, originating from Georgia, thinks that the dance is a good idea.
“It sounds fun to enjoy people’s company and just dance,” Hageman said. “It’s like an extracurricular thing, I think a school dance would be very relaxing.”
Alonda Snatoyo, 18, of Grand Rapids, likes the idea of a GRCC homecoming.
“I thought it was cool because we don’t have a (football) team to do homecoming games,” Snatoyo said. “People are really excited.”
On Friday, Oct. 20, the Homecoming Dance will take place at the ATC Piazza and The Heritage. The dance will start at 8 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.
It will feature food, a live DJ, and a 360-photo booth.
Tickets are now sold out.
If you have reserved tickets, be sure to bring your RaiderCard and pick up your tickets at the CAB tables or at the Student Life Office.
Dress semi-formal/formally as requested by the organizers.
