On Tuesday, Nov. 18, The Collegiate will be hosting our Friendsgiving Open House.

As Grand Rapids Community College’s official student news publication, we thrive off of student feedback. In this free open-house style event, attendees are invited to fill out a brief survey and help themselves to our unique Thanksgiving spread of walking tacos, cookies, and soda.

“We’re hosting this event to give the GRCC community a chance to come together and connect with one another.” wrote Jakhari Carroll, Editor-in-Chief at The Collegiate. “In the times we currently live in, we believe it’s important to reassure everyone that they’re supported and seen by everyone, including The Collegiate, here at GRCC.”

While only the survey participation is required for entry to the brunch, students are also welcome to sit down and chat with our team of editors if they would like to share ideas for stories or coverage they want to see more of on campus.

“I want the student body to know that The Collegiate is here to serve the students. We’re here to share their stories, their concerns, and do what we can as a publication to bring change and awareness to our college.” Carroll wrote.

The event will take place in Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall in Room 314  from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
