Grand Rapids Community College women’s soccer team walked away with two back-to-back wins this week against Lakeland Community College and Cornerstone University. The games played on Sept. 21 and 23 that ended with a total of 10 goals scored. These wins put the Raiders record to 3-5-1.

The Raiders played an outstanding match against the Lakers in Kirtland, Ohio and the Eagles at Cornerstone university field. These matches ended as  huge victories the Raiders got to walk away with. GRCC women’s coach Jason Hill gave some insight about the Lakeland win and what it meant for the players, while also mentioning the feeling they had for the upcoming match which they won.

“We try and not let the previous performance dictate how we go about our next game,” Hill said. “We take each game one at a time. We work to make sure we respect the game and our opponent. So when the game is in hand we play everyone out of position, and this is a great opportunity to give more minutes to other players, and conserve our starters.”

This is the second time the Raiders have played Lakeland and took the win. This was the first time they have played Cornerstone and made history with their victory.

During both matches, the 10 goals were scored by all different players, but sophomore forward Allyson Seevers was able to score in both matches.
