On Saturday, March 8, the “Unite and Resist” women’s march will be taking place at Rosa Parks Circle.
Organizers Lauren Ann Coman, Cheryl Miller and Samantha Lint will be working with the grassroots organization they have built with the help and support of 50501, Indivisible, Grand Rapids Alliance and Institution for Global Education, to bring those interested together to celebrate International Women’s Day by hosting a peaceful protest.
No violence will be allowed and the safety of participants is this event’s top priority. Those interested are invited to make signs and use their voice as this group of individuals speak up on what they believe in. Over 800 people have RSVP’d on the event’s facebook page, in addition to over 1,000 interested participants.
The hosts have provided speakers for the event and will have tables with organizations and information on how to carry activist behavior forward for anyone who is interested and supports the cause.
Warm drinks and water will be available for purchase and bathrooms will also be provided, as well.
