About 200 people were lined up outside the Alpine Ave. GameStop at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, awaiting one of the most anticipated games of the year.
“Call of Duty: Ghosts” is the latest title in a series in which Infinity Ward and Treyarch take turns making every year.
At least two Grand Rapids Community College students waited in the massive-midnight line to be among the first to play the new game.
“I just pre-ordered it today,” junior Quentin Holtrop, 22, Cedar Springs said. “I was just pushing it back because I didn’t want to spend the money.”
Senior Nina Larsen, 22, Grand Rapids, is excited about the multiplayer aspect.
“I am looking forward to the online maps,” Larsen said, “I am also looking forward to playing with my boyfriend. I’ve been waiting about a month for this game.”
Call of Duty: Ghosts is the 10th installment in the series which dates back to 2003, and the first of the “Ghosts” story arc.
“My favorite so far has been ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,’” Holtrop said. “I’m really looking forward to this one though. The single player, and the squad-based play all look fun.”
Larsen recommends this game to everyone.
“If you like first person shooter, and realistic combat then go for it,” Larsen said.
